The US Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) has implemented a new school concept in Böblingen - the "21st Century Schools". This comprises an open, light-flooded design, a central common area with an event stage and a canteen. The class areas are separated by mobile glass walls and can be used both as individual classrooms and as inter-class workspaces. A globe in exposed concrete construction makes a special statement.
