Böblingen Elementary and High School

As part of the school construction programme for Europe, the armed forces of the United States of America built a new elementary school and high school for a total of more than 1,100 pupils in Böblingen.

A part of the existing military training area with an area of 86,000 square metres was chosen as the location. This area is directly connected to the Böblingen armoured barracks.

The building itself is divided into 2 sections, which were built on a gradient to suit the steeply sloping terrain. All areas are barrier-free. The school buildings contain classrooms, laboratories, media and multi-purpose rooms, as well as sports halls, canteens and an auditorium.

The project also includes spacious landscaped areas and car parks, a bus station and sports facilities that blend in with the surrounding woodland.

The above-average sustainability of the construction project is certified in accordance with the international LEED Silver Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design seal of approval.
